Happiness. It's relative.
A friend wished me a birthday that was sunny and mine was.

We drove 90 miles to a new dog park and also to go to a place famous for pie. I had peaches and cream pie, pictured below.

Then, we drove home on some two-lane roads which is my favorite way to travel and then I finished just the second Sunday crossword of my life, also pictured below.

Even though I thought we’d had enough fancy food, we went to dinner where I ate scallops, mushroom risotto, and a roasted parsnip, one of the more underrated root vegetables. I was given a birthday creme brulee with big, fat raspberries. This was a fancy restaurant with only five tables and a server in a long, flowered dress.

With the sunset came an end to my angst about my age. On the way home from the pie place, I asked my husband if we could live to be 100. We decided that it might be unlikely but not out of the question.
Congratulations! These days, by global reckoning, you’re merely middle-aged. And what a wonderful, feisty lady you are. Xxx
Oh – thank you. It’s so great to hear from you from the other side of the globe!
It would be a perfect day for me – so happy it was for you. I can definitely see Jim & I reaching 90 and it would be fun to be 100 but maybe not those years between 90 and 100.
So glad the sun shone for you and there was plenty of pie 🙂
Many happy returns, Jan!
The perfect birthday!
Happy birthday Jan, 75 years young! 🙂
Happy birthday! What a beautiful way to celebrate.
May you have many more days like this…
Sounds like a lovely way to greet 75 Jan :0
