Happiness. It's relative.

“Dear heart, your sneakers are adorable.”
Yes, they are. That’s why I stole them from Barbara. You know Barbara, right? She’s the chick in the next room over. She’s fucked up in some kind of way, don’t ask me how. A lotta ways. Sure. But she has great shoes, too many. What does she need shoes for anyway? She’s just laying there, looking at the light in the ceiling. She forgot she has feet, much less shoes.
“You’re always so fashionable, wearing the latest styles like that! Trendsetter!”
The man on the other side of the building has gold cufflinks.

What happens here on Red's Wrap is all over the map. There is no single theme, no overarching gripe, no malady of my own or others that dominates. I write about what seems important or interesting at the moment and what aims me toward hope. I write stories, essays, poems - whatever fits the day and the mood. Nothing stays the same, here or anywhere. That's a good thing. Happiness. It's relative.

Dark story for such a pretty pink pair of sneakers!
My friend’s mom in a “memory care” home is constantly put in other peoples clothes despite her own being clearly labeled. There is a lot of truth behind your short short.
You nailed it!
She does indeed have great sneakers ….
