Happiness. It's relative.
“What’s your deal with wrecked things?”
“It’s not wrecked. It’s just leaning a little. If it was wrecked, there’d be a hole in the roof or a side of it would be on the ground.”
“Sure, whatever you say. But don’t deny you’ve got a thing for things that are falling in on themselves.”
“I like history is all.”
“So that’s why we always have to go to the oldest cemeteries with the oldest headstones to look for the oldest graves, the ones with the earth sinking and the stones falling over?”
“New things have no story. Neither do perfect things.”
“Maybe you should give them a chance.”
“I will. Later.”
Ha! Love that ending.
I mirror your view on old things. To me, they are more trustworthy and have proved their usefulness.
I like old things. I like seeing how humans left their stamp as nature tries to erase or at least soften it’s edges.
So deep! I love seeing the historic ‘stories’ older things have to offer – we just need to open our eyes more😊
