I leave all the lights in the basement on.
I am capable of going down there in the dark with my arm stretched out in front of me until I feel the thin light cord. And then moving from that halo of light to the next light cord and then to the one that hangs over the washer and dryer. I can do this, but I’d rather not. Better to leave the lights on.
Not every single thing needs to be a test of bravery.
