Overlooking the Piles of Cardboard

Daily writing prompt
What makes a good neighbor?

I’m thinking that a good neighbor is one who overlooks her neighbor tossing out empty cardboard box after empty cardboard box onto his side of the driveway because she knows that he and his partner are taking care of his mother who has dementia so deep that she watches very loud cartoons in the morning and the boxes are from diapers and wipes and sometimes there are plastic gloves tossed among the mound of boxes so I know that what they are doing is very hard, still I wish they’d break their boxes down and put them to the curb for the city to pick up, it’s not that hard, well, not for us, because we aren’t changing diapers or having to wear plastic gloves when we go about our business, so we should just extend some grace because, you know, as they say, there but for fortune go you or I.
