Sunday Shoe In

These are my new shoes. I am wearing them with socks to break them in.

When I wear them, I walk like Frankenstein.

They might have been cuter in the picture because, of course, I buy everything online. I hate actual shopping, except at Target.

I saw these shoes on someone else’s feet (not these specific shoes because these are mine, but similar ones) and they looked cute and very comfortable. She probably hired someone fulltime for a month to break them in.

I realize now that the top decoration looks like braided Play-Doh.

They weren’t cheap. That’s part of the problem. If they were cheap, I’d shit-can them.

The other concern is that they are tall shoes. I have, in the past (distant past) fallen off my shoes. I never actually wore super platform shoes although I came close and, I’ll tell you, if you turn too fast, you can fall off that cliff right in front of God and everybody.

That wouldn’t be good for me and my emerging gravitas.

I’m iffy on the shoes. But will report back later.

  1. The bombas are nice too. Those are so thick, maybe that’s why the shoes aren’t comfortable? I bought thin socks, started buying bigger shoes and live got a lot better.

  2. Oh… I am going to want to hear MORE about these shoes. Actually, any shoes. THANKS!

  3. I am so used to really good, really comfortable Merrell athletic shoes for walking and the same brand but a pair of their hikers for heavy duty stuff that I feel my feet hurting just looking at those shoes. I never have to dress for anything important so I don’t think shoes like that would be on my list. They are cute though- I’d call them a 2024 version of a penny loafer 🙂 Long ago I remember spending an arm and leg for Clarks in a loafer-ish slip on style. Those were nice.

  4. they are cute and i think that they will grow on you once your break them in and get used to them –
