Happiness. It's relative.

It was hot at the ball game, so hot that she had to take the balled up Kleenex out of her jeans pocket to wipe the sweat off her face. Not once, dozens of times. She held her arms perfectly still, not touching anything or anyone, so if there was a breeze, the damp hair on her arms would fan her. But no breeze came.
Four rows down, a woman in a pink plush hoodie, zipped up and tied under her chin, sat eating popcorn, one kernel at a time, licking her fingers after each. This went on for hours.

What happens here on Red's Wrap is all over the map. There is no single theme, no overarching gripe, no malady of my own or others that dominates. I write about what seems important or interesting at the moment and what aims me toward hope. I write stories, essays, poems - whatever fits the day and the mood. Reading that account made me want to take all my clothes off and find a shower or at least a bucket of cool water.
