Happiness. It's relative.

It hasn’t happened but if it does, I promise to sleep on a cot just inches off the floor so when they come in the middle of the night to check your temperature and your blood pressure, I’ll be there to ask everything, tell them you’re hungry and would like a tray, that you’re cold and need another blanket, you have a headache and miss being at home, that the other doctor said this and you are saying that, and I will keep notes in a blue notebook I got at the front desk when we checked in, feed you pieces of a granola bar I found in my backpack, and use your toothbrush to brush my teeth before going back to sleep on a cot just inches off the floor.

Everyone needs an advocate at the hospital these days. Not safe to be alone.
Grabbed me by the throat, Jan.
what an act of love.
Oh Jan… You have no idea the depths you just touched in me…
Whomever ends up on that other cot is GRACED to have you present.
