Happiness. It's relative.

It’s the end of 2023 and time to look forward to blogging in 2024. This will be, amazingly, the 14th year of Red’s Wrap. So now that I’ve got a little experience, it’s probably time for a mission statement for this little endeavor. The idea for this step came from a list of ways to improve one’s blog. At first, I thought it was silly, but it really isn’t.
Just like I used to tell clients, the process of thinking about a mission statement is the actual point of a mission statement. Distilling what one does and wants to do into a single sentence that can fit on a t-shirt requires considering alternatives and making choices. A mission statement centers and streamlines, adds focus and heft. Time for that after all these years, don’t you think?
Here’s my Red’s Wrap Mission Statement:
Every day, create an essay, story, or poem that will resonate, amuse, or inspire just a single person somewhere in the world.
I think this says it. A pretty worthwhile mission.

Three days ahead of schedule, mission accomplished.
Ha! I need a kick in the pants – hoping this will help. Thanks, Dan, and Happy New Year!
a very worthwhile mission!
A perfect mission statement!
Well stated! And that’s exactly what you do. And I thank you.
I think you’ve already fulfilled that mission, and then some so I’m glad you don’t plan to deviate 🙂
