Happiness. It's relative.

“They say her house fell into the lake.”
Angela liked telling this story, everybody stopping their walk through the woods to hear more.
“It was on a bluff and then the bluff eroded and the house was lost.”
Was it a landslide or an earthquake they asked but she gave no answer. Instead, she crept over to the edge and gestured ‘come here.’
Below, there were three silver gulls, all dead with broken wings. Like they’d gotten in a fight with a coyote or some other creature that roams the beach. There was no trace of wood or the furniture.

What happens here on Red's Wrap is all over the map. There is no single theme, no overarching gripe, no malady of my own or others that dominates. I write about what seems important or interesting at the moment and what aims me toward hope. I write stories, essays, poems - whatever fits the day and the mood. Nothing stays the same, here or anywhere. That's a good thing. Happiness. It's relative.

Each morning you nudge me to the writing room. Your story this morning was brilliant.
Ha! You strike me as a guy who has a million stories ready to rock with no nudging at all. Still, a compliment from you is worth a lot. Thanks ! 🙂
