Hat Trick

I am going through a time of reinvention.

I have done this before, so it is not new.

It is, I think, a sign of good fortune that I have been given the time and the wherewithal to reinvent.

As in the past, though, it occurs to me that I have to be my own inspiration. There isn’t a role model.

There are just choices about how to respond to what the day brings.

Like taking a picture of myself with my favorite hat, for instance.

And remembering what someone told me a long time ago – you are who you pretend to be.
