Happiness. It's relative.

If you finally give up the running shoes that you paid a hundred dollars for and worn for a year even though they kill your feet, the guy at Goodwill will smile and the Mistake Police won’t arrest you.
The benefit of having a gate that makes a horrendous noise when opened is that the burglar rumored to be moving through the neighborhood will be startled especially with the three snow shovels propped against the gate to create noise and confusion.
Soon, there will be wagon trains from Iowa and Idaho to places like Michigan and Massachusetts, two states where government for, by, and of the people remembers that half of those people are women.
If you have a dog that is a finicky eater like we do with Swirl whose future as a champion sled dog was impeded by his lackadaisical eating habits and his lack of enthusiasm about getting up from a nap, try mixing his kibble with a wee bit of baked sweet potato.

My son asked me last night where I thought was the best place in the United States to which I answered something, I don’t remember what, but what I should have said was ‘anyplace where your dad is.’
My matzo balls yesterday were pretty darn okay and that’s because I went with the deluxe (four egg) recipe and not the minimalist (two egg) recipe because I didn’t want to shame my husband’s ancestors by having Goyishe matzo balls in the Seder soup.

Speaking of which, when I couldn’t find a second brisket to accommodate additional Seder guests, I bought a flank steak, and the brisket and flank steak roasted together with onions and carrots and garlic like they’d known each other for years, and no one knew the difference, which just goes to show.
Our granddaughter showed up to our Passover Seder/Easter dinner in a black leather jacket, shoes that lit up, and bunny ears.

It isn’t always worth the effort but it often is.

I used the four-egg recipe too. Not only do the kneidls taste better, but they are lighter. Also, add a pinch of nutmeg. It makes a huge difference. Just a pinch.
Your granddaughter is beautiful!
I smiled throughout, but the biggest was for your granddaughter! What style. (And, having attended a few Seder meals (as a Protestant) yours looks (and smells) the best.) Thank you and Happy Whatever!
Very good thoughts indeed Jan. I am especially fond of the dog and the adorable bunny thoughts.
What a cutie. I applaud her fashion sense. Would you believe I have never had a matzo ball?
Me either but I’d love to try! Xxx
