The man wears a red plaid jacket and a wool baseball cap. He walks a black cattle dog who pulls hard on his leash. They pass by her house every day at 5:08 p.m.
She knows he lives on the other side of the block because she saw him there once with a different dog. The current dog is the third one since she started noticing.
One day, she yells out the window. “Hello! I like your dog!” His shoulders shift in acknowledgement then he walks on.
She decides to meet him with her dog, but they pass without sniffing.

What happens here on Red's Wrap is all over the map. There is no single theme, no overarching gripe, no malady of my own or others that dominates. I write about what seems important or interesting at the moment and what aims me toward hope. I write stories, essays, poems - whatever fits the day and the mood. Nothing stays the same, here or anywhere. That's a good thing. Happiness. It's relative.
