Minnie and BowWow Discuss Westminster

BowWow: I’m so proud of Flynn, I could shit right here.

Minnie: Well, that wouldn’t be so uncommon actually but, yes, I see why you’d be proud of him. It’s a big deal to win Westminster. And he’s one of your kind, sort of.

BowWow:  What do you mean ‘sort of?” We’re kin, me and Flynn. A direct line from my you know to his little self. Yep.

Minnie: You’re saying that you’re Flynn’s father?

BowWow: Well, not his immediate father.

Minnie: Meaning?

BowWow:  Meaning I’ve been around. I haven’t always been sitting here on the back porch with you, Minnie. I’ve had a life, I’ve dogged around, scampered, as they say, with the ladies, even a couple in Michigan.

Minnie:  “Scampered with the ladies.” Why so delicate? That’s not like you.

BowWow: It’s the fucking #dogtoo movement thing. I don’t want to get hauled out or mauled out or whatever it is. Never mind. You don’t see the resemblance? Fuck, that dog’s my spitting image. His mama was sweet, too, but no looker. Not like me.

Minnie:  Ah. Yes. I see the resemblance. In the eyes, mostly, and your little tongue. OH IT’S SO CUTE! YOUR TONGUE!

BowWow: Oh stop about my fucking tongue.

Minnie: It’s cute is all. Really cute. A little sliver of pinkness. Adorable.

BowWow: STOP IT! This is serious. I coulda been a contender.

Minnie:  A contender?

BowWow: Yeah, but I wasn’t down with all that stupid fluffy stuff. Look at Flynn, he’s cute and all, but he’s got no edge, man. No, you know, balls. I wonder if there even are any balls under all that fur or do they take them off ahead of time? Probably. Little dick.

Minnie: Your life just took a different turn, BowWow. The puppy mill and then Wanda and then Wanda’s son and then her son’s cousin and then here. You traveled a harder road than Flynn. He might be fluffier, but you’re a tougher dog.

BowWow:  Yeah. Thanks, Minnie. I’m just thinking of what might have been.

Minnie:  We all think about that, BW. Your life’s written all over your face and it’s beautiful. Especially that little wee tongue.
