Happiness. It's relative.
List five things you do for fun.
This is a terrible list. When I die, my obit will be very thin.
Expanded, the list would translate to ‘she liked driving aimlessly around town, stopping at unusual markets, like hidden places to buy jars of peculiar olives and pickled things that would sit in the cupboard for months but not forever. She went to the dog park every day, loving especially the days with weather, like snow and maybe a light rain, days when she’d have to take her boots off on the porch because of the mud, and then she liked going upstairs to her office to run meetings on Zoom because she owned a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order and knew, almost better than anybody, how to sum up. And then she wrote, every day, some good stuff, some ho-hum, and on Wednesdays and Sundays, she read the obits while drinking Philz coffee from San Francisco and yearning always for a decent donut which was sometimes present but rarely.’
I need to have more enviable fun or more impactful fun or maybe just less dumb fun.
There has to be more to life than wearing my Christmas hat when the snow is falling.

Oh, I don’t know … sounds like a perfectly reasonable list to me. We can’t all be Base Jumpers, Olympic athletes or – heaven forbid – a social media Celebrity. I mean, you went dog mushing in Alaska, didn’t you? Enjoy your Christmas hat.
So true, Alison – although we’ve never actually gone dog mushing ourselves – still spectators on that score – but maybe someday!
