Small Words

Writers run on, say things in long ways, describe every petal
Pages are spent on saying what is delicious and sweet
Metaphors and analogies and coy turns of phrase
Theirs is a gift for immersion, tiny stitching
Sentences elbow each other for room
See me! See me! each word yells
Fearing a dropped stitch
My words are pets
Written tight
Spare
