Happiness. It's relative.

While you are envying someone else’s garden, they might be envying your plaid shirt. You can never assume that you have nothing worth envying. It’s rarely the thing you think it could be. I don’t own a plaid shirt.
I met with an attorney today who wore a seersucker suit and socks with moose on them. She seemed quite competent and at home with herself. She would have to be with that combo. Seeing the moose on her feet put me immediately at ease.
Last week, I didn’t do a Friday Round-Up because I forgot it was Friday. I didn’t make that mistake this week largely because making it to Friday has been my primary goal since Monday. Retirement is seeming a lot like work lately except with higher expectations and much lower pay.
I chaired a Zoom meeting yesterday in which 22 participants hashed out a long range (20 Year) vision statement for the local aging network and for that I deserve some kind of lifetime achievement award. Getting to an agreed-upon statement was a joyous event, at least for me.Others may have just given up, the shrugs on Zoom are sometimes hard to detect.
This is my 600th consecutive post. The only other thing I’ve done 600 days in a row is brush my teeth. I thought of taking two weeks off to replenish but I asked myself replenish what? Words don’t flower if you leave them alone, they just lay there like so many dead ideas. Better to have a dandelion every day than wait around for a rose to bloom, which, in my case, would never happen. See above.
