Happiness. It's relative.

A Republican says a true thing and it’s front page news. She’s about to get punished for saying said thing and we’re all #StandWithLizCheney.
We’re mesmerized by a Republican politician who says Joe Biden actually won the presidential election, never mind that the election has been litigated, recounted, and certified to that effect to death. There is no evidence, no glimmer, no piece of lint on a cheap suit that supports the idea that Joe Biden ‘stole’ the election. Yet, we’re giddy because Liz Cheney says what’s true.
Here’s what I think about Liz Cheney. I think she could get run out of Washington tomorrow and she’d go back to Wyoming and wrangle a herd of cattle through the mountains or whatever hard, physical thing they do out there. She is a tough cookie. You know she has a gun but she’s not going to get all dopey, ‘look at my AR-15 display in my laundry room’ about it like some Q-Anon Janey-come-latelys I’ve seen.
Liz Cheney has substance. I don’t like her substance, but there’s no denying she’s an actual thinking, principled human being. So I do appreciate her.
I’m liking Liz Cheney right now because I’m a big fan of the principled response, of ‘standing on principle,’ of shitcanning something, even something extremely important and valuable, because it goes against one’s principles. When I see her sturdy little self in her suits standing at the microphone with all the GOP men standing behind her, I see the winner of the barrel race at the rodeo, the chick who could gun her horse through the course, slide off the saddle, wipe her nose, and go get a chili dog. She ain’t afraid of you all, that’s what I think.
Liz Cheney is daring the Republican leadership to take a swing. It’s delicious.
Liz Cheney isn’t my favorite politician, that’s for sure, but she is the toughest buckaroo at the rodeo. She’ll still be barrel racing when the suits are writing their concession speeches. It might take a while but this is where all this ruckus is heading. Victory and defeat, whose is whose.

i’m rooting for liz, loved her recent op-ed
Your blog is so especially wonderful for a South African who lived the horror of Apartheid. I was on the transitional local council leading up to the first, yes, first democratic election and – listen to this, the Republican Party, from the U. S. A. paid for a team of trainers to teach us how to be good councillors. What the fork has gone wrong? We need tough, on every level. Please keep doing what you’re doing. Respect. XxX
The Republican party in the U.S. has just simply lost its mind. Nearly totally taken over by conspiracy theorists and the worst kind of racist/anti-democratic thinkers. I can’t begin to explain how all this happened but it’s really amazing…..and unpleasant, to say the least.
I really want you to be right!
