Criminal Chewing

Swirl has spent an hour trying to get the treat out of the middle of this ball. It was an hour he wasn’t chewing on my beautifully restored mission chair. For two and a half years he’s left my beloved chair alone and then, today, I see two wee chunks nibbled off the arm.

He wanted to write about this on his own sub-blog, “Swirl’s Chewed Things,” but he lacks sufficient remorse, in my opinion. Besides, if he rushes to the keyboard, he could be accused of doing things just to be able to write about them. That would be dreadful, don’t you think?

Like so many of us, Swirl follows bad behavior with intense normalcy, artful pretending that the day is a regular one, nothing amiss. Because he is beautiful and very sweet, he is betting I will forget his offense. It is often true.
