Happiness. It's relative.

With my right hand, I played Your Song on the piano I bought for $50, wanting to be the Bohemian I never was, my hair long again after years short, trapped by my own lock, missing notes while you loaded your car.

What happens here on Red's Wrap is all over the map. There is no single theme, no overarching gripe, no malady of my own or others that dominates. I write about what seems important or interesting at the moment and what aims me toward hope. I write stories, essays, poems - whatever fits the day and the mood. Nothing stays the same, here or anywhere. That's a good thing. Happiness. It's relative.

Reblogged this on Red's Wrap.
I keep coming back to this and finding more in it.
Such a clever take on the prompt!
Thanks Stacie!
I love this moment you’ve captured. The way the entire piece is one sentence really helps give it a feel of stopped time. Really nice.
Thank you. I love the 42-word challenges.
I concur, the missing notes was right on!
Very creative!
Oh, yes, those missing notes – just nailed it. Love the title!
Love it! “…missing notes while you loaded your car” Brilliant!
Sounds like the earth spun around the “you” loading the car and the narrator couldn’t wait for it to stop! Love this take, Jan, very inventive.
Good one. I love “your song” and its reference here made me smile.
