Snow Day

Snow Day

I am getting used to the idea of being happy without condition, without footnotes to clarify and tone down what might be taken for contentment.

I like the gratitude movement but it reads like a bumper sticker to me. What I’m talking about isn’t a list and doesn’t have rounder and rounder happy faces.

It maybe has snow and a shovel, a car getting stuck, a wet glove, an unpaid bill, a bad reflection, a conversation that goes nowhere. It isn’t a rejoicing moment.

It’s just what is, what’s happening today.
