“Are you crazy? I’m not doing that.”

“What’s the big deal? They move really slow. Just quick open the door, run down to the ditch, pat him on the head, and run back here. You can do it in 30 seconds.”

“Alright. But no picture and don’t be posting anything. I don’t want my husband to know. He’d kill me if he knew I was fooling around with alligators.”

She tied her shoelaces real tight, put her phone on the dashboard, took a look at him, and said, “Ok, here I go. Cover your eyes. I don’t want any witnesses.”

The car door flung open, she skidded down the hill into the ditch, her Sketchers slicking through the mud at the bottom.

“Don’t wake up, you motherfucker.”

She reached out to pat him on the head. His eyes opened, blinked at her, and then looked up the hill at the car driving away.

  1. Ha! This was great! Anyone who will run down a hill to pat an alligator will believe anything. Very fun piece!

  2. With friends like that, an alligator just might come in handy;) Fun take on the prompt!

  3. Oh no!!

Honestly, I think this was so awesome. The dialogue and then leading up to the alligator watching the car drive away. It was just so well done.
